Working as part of a Team

Earlier this year I contributed as part of a team towards a game concept titled "Apocrypha" as the team's Unreal scripter. During the time I learned how Unreal Engine 4 handles blueprints, as well as how to successfully implement models, particle systems and UI. Throughout the project, I worked alongside my team members which required communication in order to state who should be working on what aspect of the game, as well as working on a predetermined schedule by the project lead which helped prevent anyone from falling behind. We encountered a few difficulties throughout the project, but the main issue was two of our team members were unable to attend most of the meet up sessions and contributed little work, and so we had to dynamically shift work load onto other members of the team. I personally had to work on sound design within levels towards the end of the project alongside my previous responsibilities of developing the games key mechanics. The final project, although a demo concept, accomplished the team's goals for the original concept of the game. We finished around 5 rooms to create a brief 5 minute demo playable on itch.io. The game has issues with overusing system GPU's, which was an issue caught too late in development to create a fix due to everyone's busy schedule. Here is a link to try out the game yourself! https://pandapaladin.itch.io/apocrypha
